chill out, its the holiday's
Well I have had a good week. I have come in to work and done stuff for a few hours most days this week except one. So I will be able to take 90% of next week off so that’s all good. I have slogged through some marking and now and doing data entry in the pre reports phase. Reports are due three days into next term so I am trying to get most of them done now.
I have watched the two world cup semi-finals, man they were good. Those guys are just scary with their level of control over a ball, they have spent years working on their natural talent until what they are capable of barely seems possible. It’s unfortunate how they have spent years mastering the art of the dive as well.
an other wise unremarkable week punctuated my moments of coffee, Rome Total war ( the Parthians will take over the world this holidays! it will be ours!) and fun with friends.
I procrastinated yesterday looking at the Tokyo drift web site
It is pretty elaborate and has some cool stuff. I was geeking out reading about the history of Drifting. Very cool.
Also very cool is that one of the technical advisors who did a lot of the stunt driving was Rhys Millen. Now if you don't know this name he is a kiwi. his dad his Rod Millen a Big name in motor sport if you know about rally in N
Z and his massive v8 Toyota Hilux desert racer that he brings back from the states to compete in the race to the sky every year in queens town. Turns out that son Rhys is quite the racer as well and has got in to drifting in a big way. Not only is he one of the top racers in the states, it was his company that modified a lot of the cars for the movie it seems. He has done other stunt work. it was him doing the crazy power slides in the general lee in dukes of hazard!
I say he's a kiwi and we claim him!
Go Kiwis taking over the world:)
Later..
