News Flash
In breaking news I have got a new job at school!
Well actually the news broke on the weekend but I haven’t managed too blog it yet:)
I applied for a job as a house leader, filling in for the next two terms for a man on paternity leave/ sabbatical. I have loved my y13 role and will be very sad when it finishes on Saturday night when the school ball is over.
The new job is as the male house leader for Hillary House. Basically I am responsible for the kids in 5 form classes, third to seventh formers. Helping run house assemblies, house meetings with form teachers, chasing anomalies in attendance (lates and absences) and generally dealing with middle level behavioural stuff.
It’s a big step up and it means I lose a class (i.e. gain four release periods) a week as well as a management unit for a pay increase. That’s all good but it will keep me very busy, best of all I will be doing something I enjoy, relating to kids.
